COTTON, JONES, MOBLEY, SIMES, SIMS posted by Lynn Nelson on Monday, May 11, 1998: Shadrick (Shadrach) JONES died in Sampson Co in 1802. Mentioned in his will were: Wife--Mary Wallace JONES, Sons: Shadrick, Reddick, Phillip (dec'd), and Benjamine. Daus: Polly and Rachel and sons in law: Thomas WO-----, Jesse COTTON, Ambrose SIMES (SIMS) and Walas (Wallace) MOBLEY. The MOBLEY, SIMS, COTTON families all moved to Hickman Co., TN by 1840. Shadrach JONES Jr. was in Cumberland Co. NC until at least 1830. Have never found any further info. on sons Reddick or Benjamin.

BARDEN, BARDIN, NEWSOM posted by W.C.Reed on Monday, May 11, 1998: I'm researching for relatives of Joseph BARDIN (BARDEN). I Know of a Graham BARDEN who was of Sampson Co. I would like to know of his relatives and if Joseph BARDIN was included among them. What I know thus far is that Joseph and his wife Penelope (NEWSOM) were of Wayne Co.,NC and moved to Adair Co.Ky. They are included in the 1860 census. Joseph was 44 at the time.
