In the name of God Amen - May 15th 1841
I William Robinson of the State of North Carolina and County of Sampson
having got considerably in years and being desirous to direct how my small
property is to be distributed, do make and ordain this my last will and
testament.
And first I give to my John Robinson in addition to that I have
already given and delivered him the sum of four hundred dollars to be
pay'd out of my estate by my executors as soon as may be convenient.
2nd I give to my son George W. Robinson a negro nam'd
(name not given) and the sum of five hundred dollars.
3rd I give to my daughter Elizabeth Ward the sum of five hundred
dollars in addition to what I have given formerly.
4th I give unto my daughter Marget a negro girl nam'd Julian and
the sum of five hundred dollars.
5th I give to my daughter Mary Ward a negro girl nam'd Meriah
and the sum of five hundred dollars.
6th I give to my daughter Avabella Mosly a negro man nam'd
Virgil and two hundred dollars.
7th I give to my daughter Nancy Herring a negro girl namd Clarry
and five hundred dollars.
8th I give and bequath to my son William L. Robinson this land on
which I live containing about four hundred acres with the appurtanances
thereunto belonging also the household furniture plantation tools, and four
cows and calves.
The property not nam'd above I will to be distributed among all the
above nam'd heirs, and the money (if any) and if the means to pay the above
legacys should fail viz, the money due or bonds and notes, each is to lose in
proportion to his or her legacy.
I constitue and appoint my sons George and William L. Robinson
executors of this my last will revoking all others.
