Will of Sarah Ford

In the name of God Amen
I Sarah Ford of the County of Sampson and State of North Carolina being
of sound mind memory and understanding considering the certainty of
death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end that I
may be the better prepared to leave this world I therefore make publish
and declare this my last will and testament.
I give bequeath and devise to my son John Turner Ford the following named
negroes viz Serena, Rueben, Edith, Willis, John, Cindy? and Mathew
and the increase of the female part thereof to him and his heirs forever.
I also give bequeath and devise to my said son John one feather bed
all my household & kitchen furniture together with my stock of cattle
and hogs and all other property of which I may die seized and possessed.
I do hereby nominate and appoint my son John Turner Ford my Executor
of this my last will and testament.
In Testimony whereof I have hereto inscribed my name and affixed
my seal the eleventh day of May in the year of my Lord 1838.
